Save the Date! The opening reception for my solo show is Friday, September 6th, 2019, 5-7:30 pm.

I’ve been working for over a year on these 20-some new paintings. Most feature the Virginia countryside, scenes from Rockbridge County and a few Lexington city-scapes. Can’t wait to share these with you!

And if you can’t make the opening, the show lasts the entire month of September. Would love it if you stopped by for a look.

I have some sad news — two of my three galleries needed to close their doors last year. They were so wonderful to work with and am of course so sad to see them go.

Monday Post, 9x12, oil . I was struck by the morning dappled light on the crisp uniforms of these VMI keydets. There’s a peek of the barracks on the left and the academic buildings to the right. Quiet Morning at Jordan’s Point, 9x12, oil . Yesterday I posted about the dam and piers at Jordan’s point. Here is a scene from just upriver of the dam. The Maury flows so flat and quiet just above the former location of the dam. . White Water at Jordan’s Point, 14x14, oil . Yesterday I posted a painting from Jordan’s Point Dam. It was recently removed due to concerns about safety when a 16 year old boy drown in the hydraulic churn beneath the dam. The dam was removed as well at 8 of these piers from a former railroad bridge downstream from the dam. In a day or so I’ll post a view of the Maury just yards upstream from the dam, quiet tranquil water. I haven’t been back to Jordan’s Point Park since the removal of the dam.
