You’re invited to my show April 3rd – 30th, 2023 at Cabell Gallery in Lexington, VA. The front image is one of the twenty-some paintings created over the past 4 months. Many were inspired by my family’s favorite hymns.

We’ve been slowly going through our hymnal as a family in the evenings. What a wonderful time to meditate on beautiful truths written with such artistry and put to music — and special to be surrounded with the sweet little voices of our girls.

At the merely natural level we are all dull and are served well when language claps it’s hands and wakes us up to pay attention. J. Piper.

Don’t you resonate with that? And not only does expressive language wake us, but compelling imagery of the natural world can take our minds from transient or trivial things and incline our hearts towards the lasting and even eternal. What many pursue with verse and song I attempt with paint and brush. Following are details.
